Petworth Park Walk
Sunday 23rd January 2011
Our first BGV Walk in 2011 was well attended, thank you all for coming, good to see Malcolm Cooper after his heart op and his Grand Henry who was even louder than the Cowdray Chiddingfold and Leconsfield Hunt Hounds who spied us through their kennel run! Not sure he'll be coming again (smile). Kath and Steph were a tad late having been partying till the early hours such commitment!
The sun shone for best part of the way and it wasn't too muddy, which is always a good thing, sadly the Petworth Park deer were very boring and were not afraid of our hounds at all, so embarrassing, they just continued eating rather than causing mayhem. The puppies did the shorter walk round the lake and the adults did the hour and a half, which included a few hills, everybody enjoyed themselves and we all had rosy cheeks by the end. I hope Master Slater, who insisted on attending, was well enough to go to school the next day!
There was a lot of talk about the 'On and Off the Lead Topic' which was raised in the January E-Voice needless to say with all the deer around we did the right thing and kept them all on the lead!!!
Plans are a foot for the next walk, pardon the pun, which will probably be at Eartham Woods the date will be confirmed in the February E-Voice.
Any members in my area who have “A Walk to Die For” please let me know and we will go there.
