As part of your membership, you will receive twice yearly printed club newsletters (Voice) and, if on e-mail, bi-annual editions of the club's e-Voice.  This decision was implemented following a survey of members in 2016, the results of which were published in the Winter 2016 Voice and are reproduced below.

These results were analysed and the committee has been able to implement some of the good points raised.

Since its humble beginnings in 1978, the newsletter has been an important means of the BGV Club keeping in touch with its members.

In 1988, the format changed from A4 to A5, with this smaller size proving very popular amongst members.

Ten years later, advances in printing methods and the ability to reproduce clearer images, allowed for the introduction of a glossy-covered magazine of superior quality.  And the newsletter became BGV Voice.
The Winter 2011 edition heralded yet another change, with the magazine reverting to A4 format, which continues to this day.

Following a survey of members, 2011 also saw the introduction of an e-Voice, designed to give more frequent news.

Each year, from 1 January to 31 December, Club members' BGVs that are exhibited earn points towards Club trophies.

CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWS  Other than points for Top Sire / Top Dam, a record of points for every BGV's wins at Championship shows is kept by the committee.  Other than submitting points for Top Sire or Top Dam, there is no need to complete a form to claim a Championship show trophy.  HOWEVER, each owner of a BGV  must be a member of the Club to receive a trophy.

OPEN SHOWS  Those who exhibit their BGVs at Open Shows are invited to submit claims forms showing how many points have been earned the preceding year.  Again, each owner of a BGV must be a Club member to receive a trophy.

Results of the Top Dog, Top Bitch, Top Puppy etc in each breed are announced at the Club's spring Annual General Meeting and any trophy awarded may be held by the winner until the following AGM.
