Puppies
If you are thinking about buying a Petit or Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen puppy,
have a look at these

which may help you decide whether this is the right breed for you.
Also please bear the following information in mind.
All members of the Basset Griffon Vendéen Club are
encouraged to abide by a Code of Ethics.

Part of this Code covers responsible ownership and
breeding.
This includes:

1. It is a breeder's responsibility to abide by the Kennel Club Code of Ethics.

2. Club members are encouraged to have their dogs' eyes tested regularly and to only breed
from those whose eyes have been tested.

3. It is a breeder's responsibility to ensure that puppies only go to suitable, responsible
homes and no puppies should change hands under six weeks of age, preferably eight weeks
(for first time owners at least eight weeks).
4. All puppies must be in good health and correctly
wormed at time of sale.

5. When selling or transferring a puppy or older dog, a
breeder should provide the purchaser with all relevant
Kennel Club documents, a pedigree, diet sheet and full
information about health, worming, inoculations etc. If
KC documents are not immediately available, agreement
should be given in writing to forward these at the earliest
opportunity.
6. Breeders are encouraged to impress on buyers that they should make contact in the event
of any problems with the puppy or older dog. Breeders should make every effort to help in
such circumstances.

7. Advertising by club members should be as factual as possible. Misleading exaggeration or
unfounded implications should not be used.

8. The Breeders Directory on this website gives details of those club members who wished
to have their details advertised. Endorsement or recommendation of breeders listed is
neither given nor implied. If you would like any information about puppies or litters available
